Who says interior design has to be expensive? With some research and creativity, there are endless inexpensive creative design ideas to be discovered.
DIY is everywhere: television shows, Pinterest, stores etc. Creativity seems to be endless. All you need to do is think out of the box, take some of the ideas you discover and adapt them to your situation. Experiment, take a chance, and get creative!
Here are a couple of inexpensive creative design ideas I have incorporated at our cottage.
This one, with white baskets and two canvas pictures, only cost about $50. The baskets are painted white to blend in well with the canvas pictures. Two baskets are used to hold magazines and brochures from our lake house area. The top basket holds silk plants since it would be difficult for anyone to reach for a brochure or magazine from that height. Groupings always seem to work best with odd numbers, that is why this one consists of five pieces.
I found the adorable miniature bike at a Pier One store and fell in love with it. Not knowing what I was going to do with it didn’t stop me from buying it. I knew it would work into the design scheme somehow. Later I found the shelf and the canvas bike picture. Putting all three of the pieces together over the sofa worked well together. The cost of this grouping was only approximately $60.
Using a wooden ladder for storage is not only adorable but it helps utilize vertical space in a room. This bathroom picture from Clean & Scentsible, provides extra storage in a creative way, and it would be fairly inexpensive to purchase.
Design doesn’t have to be expensive.
