If you are like me, being able to incorporate recycled items that are destined for the trash into a usable creation is always rewarding. Especially, if the item created turns out to be adorable too! I found that unique lids could be transformed into adorable picture holders. And it only takes 3 easy steps to create!
Just three easy steps and you will have a great gift or a clever picture holder for yourself. And the cost is minimal which is even better!
This is how:
1. Find cute orphaned pot or glass dish lids. Make sure they are on the smaller side. I would say 6” or smaller works best. Here are two that I found at a thrift store. The metal one has a little loop for the handle. The glass one has a nice tower type handle. The lid will be the base of your holder.
2. Purchase, if you don’t already have, a needle nose plier and heavy gauge wire. I used 18-gauge wire, which worked perfectly.
3. Cut the wire approximately 12 “. The length of the wire really depends on how tall you want your picture holder to be. Wrap the wire around the handle of your lid, securing it tightly. Then at the other end of the wire make the spiral loops where the picture will be placed.
You have made a cute picture holder and it only took 3 easy steps.
Voila! You have made a cute picture holder and it couldn’t have been easier. There are probably many other items that you can use for the base of your holder. One Little Project has a cute example on Pinterest using painted rocks. My mind has already been going crazy thinking of other possibilities. So, put on your creativity hats and have fun! I would love to see what you come up with.
